Instructions of use

STEP 1

Hydrate Shampoo

Put the dog straight into the bath, (no pre-brushing needed) and wash with Hydrate shampoo.

Rinse and shampoo again, paying particular attention to the creases (behind the ears, armpits, in-between toes, etc).

Rinse properly then squeeze off excess water with your hands.

Please note this is not just a ‘cleaning’ shampoo. It is designed to specifically release knots.

Pro groomer tip:
When you move the shampoo and conditioner around the body and legs, smooth it downwards, going with the fur ‘grain’. Vigorous rubbing in circles creates knots.

STEP 2

Repair leave-in Conditioner

Put a generous amount of conditioner in your palm and spread it all over the dog’s coat. Make sure you include all those ‘hard to get to’ places. Leave on for 2 minutes.

This is a leave-in conditioner, so give the coat a light spray of water to spread the conditioner around the coat, allow the diluted product to remain on the coat then squeeze the coat dry with your hands.

STEP 3

Towel Dry

Towel dry being careful not to rub (especially in circles) as this will create knots. Squeeze the coat or dry in the direction of fur growth.

STEP 4

Release detangle spray

Spray Release detangle spray all over coat, avoiding the eyes. Dry the coat with a dryer (lowest heat setting but highest fan speed) until it feels 90% dry.

Turn the dryer onto a lower fan speed and spray again then begin line brushing (brushing from root to tip methodically through the whole coat). Use a slicker and comb to check for any missed knots.

STEP 5

Prevent spray

Prevent spot spray can be used anytime. We recommend using it on the difficult knots and matt prone areas, like behind the ear and under the harness/collar. Spray a little under the harness or collar before a walk, or on legs before a playing in the dirt. It will help to prevent dirt sticking to coat.

Pro groomer tip:
If you wash your dog paws/legs after a muddy walk, dry the legs and give them a quick detangle spray and brush. If you forget to spray and brush the legs they can get matted.

Grooming Dont's

  • Don’t use a dematting tool, you will not need it with Oodle Love products. The blades in dematting tools shred the coat and cause split ends, making the coat much harder to manage. They are also dangerous, easily cutting your dog skin.
  • Don’t brush when the dog is wet or damp. Knots will brush out only when the coat is fully dry. You can spray Release detangle spray directly on any difficult knots then brush or comb out.

Grooming Dos:

  • Do let the Oodle Love products do the work for you! These products are made to detangle while you wash. The formulation enters the hair shaft to rehydrate and release knots, so just go ahead and pop your doggo straight in the bath. Brush after you wash, not before.
  • Do use all the products in the range, it makes grooming so much easier and faster! Each product is designed for a purpose and has a function in achieving a knot free coat.
This system is best used as a knot free management system and preventative. If your dog is already very matted and /or pelted, usually the only solution it to have your dog shaved. (sorry!) You can then use Oodle Love products to maintain the new coat.
